Our next guild meeting is on November 2nd at 6:30 at the Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center. The program is “Origami as Inspiration for Quilt Design” by Mary Saunders. We will all be using markers, pen, pencil, scissors, and glue stick. Please bring what you can – we will have some supplies available to share. Mary will also have copies of her book – “Spread Your Wings and Fly, An Origami Fold and Tell” available for purchase ($15). Mary says that she hopes to inspire with some fold and tells, hands on activities (simple…fear not!), fun and laughter. Mary is excited to be sharing another of her passions with all of us. And we are looking forward to learning from Mary! Also remember to bring your show and tell.
Our Guild is in the running for the big Warm Company giveaway. So don’t forget to like their page on facebook and comment “WARMWORLD1”.
If you haven’t renewed your membership and wish to do so, please bring $40 to the next meeting. We are also voting for different board positions. There are still some openings (librarian for example). So if you would like to volunteer your time to the guild, let us know!!
Lastly, there is a fun QAL going on at Sew Scatterbrained starting November 2nd. She is calling it the “Drunkard’s Wife QAL”. The point of this particular quilt-along is to embrace your inner screw-up and create purposely messed-up blocks. See her post for more information. I know that when I sew late at night in the near dark all kinds of crazy happens. I can’t wait to see what head-smacking mistakes I make!
